January

Brrrrrr! January is the heart of ski season, and there is no shortage of winter sports to dabble in. Whether you prefer whizzing down a slope whooping with delight or taking a dog sledding trip, you’ll be able to find something to do in the Collingwood area.

When visiting the area in March, do yourself a favour and visit the Maple Syrup Festival for a truly Canadian experience. As the winter weather starts to lift and signs of spring emerge, break out your hiking boots and head out for a hike at Scenic Caves Adventures.

Besides fresh air in your lungs, there are so many reasons to take a stroll: the mild weather makes for a comfortable hike; due to snow melt, the waterfalls will be stunning; there are plenty of opportunities to catch some wildlife and wildflowers; plus fewer crowds. It is the perfect activity for a sunny spring day!

For a memorable and musical treat, dance your way over to the annual Elvis Presley Festival. This unique and funky event celebrates the life of the King and includes a huge lineup of Elvis impersonators.

The event draws a huge crowd and features live music, merchandise and history; it’s a fun and exciting event for the entire family that is unique to the area.

June

Summer is finally here; it is time to relish some outdoor festivals! Support local artists and head on over to the Collingwood Art Crawl. This delightful street festival features a diverse medley of local artists and the opportunity to buy art and learn about its creators.

The festival features excellent food, beverage and craft vendors and a rich local musical talent lineup. This event is simply a delight and a perfect way to spend a few hours.

July

Is there anything better than a beautiful summer day by the harbour? Obviously not – so spend a blissful day at the Collingwood Harbour Festival! The festival includes an entire array of competitive water sports to observe and also includes the opportunity to try a few out.

The festival celebrates the rich history of ship making and celebrates life by the water. This incredibly family-friendly event has plenty of good eats, sips, and shops.

August in Collingwood is one of the most glorious times of the year. The weather is perfect and sunny, which is great for visiting a beer and cider festival. The Collingwood beer and cider festival showcases prominent local breweries, cideries, and a wide array of local food trucks.

There is also merchandise, local vendors, and souvenir glasses. So relax, kick back, pick a tipple, and quaff away!

September

It is always sad to wave goodbye to summer, but we welcome autumn with open arms. Autumn is abundant here with cooler weather, bountiful harvest bounties, and fun seasonal activities.

Now, Collingwood takes apple season seriously, as you would expect from the apple capital and home of the Apple Pie Trail. With 26 official stops on the trail, take time to meander, visit and pick some apples.

Over 20 varieties of apples are grown in Collingwood, which is the perfect microclimate for them. So put on your best fall flannel and head out to enjoy the autumn harvest.

Is it me…or is it getting spooky around here? Collingwood is a small town that likes to party, and we get in the swing for Halloween! Head to downtown Collingwood for the Black Harvest Festival, where most local shops and vendors offer treats and spooky prizes for costumed guests.
