Our History
The VanderMarck has a unique and rich history in Collingwood’s historic downtown.
Built in 1912 for the town doctor and two-time mayor Joseph Arthur by renowned Toronto architect Eden Smith, the hotel has redefined one of Collingwood’s original heritage homes. The house has undergone extensive renovations to introduce functionality without sacrificing beauty and has been reimagined with one priority: creating a memorable experience for our guests.
In true Scandinavian style, The VanderMarck was designed for those who appreciate design and minimalism without denying their creature comforts. It’s a laid-back, not-too-little, not-too-much kind of luxury.
