While you make your way through this par 71 course to play 9 or 18 holes, take some time to look around at the gorgeous scenery, which includes views of the South Georgian Bay.
There are several additional ways to relish the golfing experience, such as at the driving range or by taking private lessons. If you’ve always wanted to try pickleball, you can do that here, too. Stop by the cafe when you want to grab food like their BBQ wings, a breakfast sandwich, or a burger.

Cranberry Golf Course
The par 71, 18-hole Cranberry Golf Course is about a 10-minute drive from The VanderMarck. Operating from May through October, it offers a perfect opportunity to appreciate the sunshine-filled days when you want to stay in town.
Lessons are available, and a golf shop is on-site. The views from the 6,000+ yard golf course are lovely, and when you’re done, grab some food and drinks on their patio, Station on the Green. If you head out on the weekend, you can even catch some live music.
Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club
Established in 1965, Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club is a semi-private club a six-minute drive from The VanderMarck. It’s ideal for all levels of golfers who want to play either nine or 18 holes. A pro shop is on-site, and golf instruction is available. Completing the course typically takes four hours (or less). Stop by the dining facility for food and beverages when you get hungry.
Monterra Golf at Blue Mountain Resort
Hop in the car for a 13-minute drive to Monterra Golf in Blue Mountains, Ontario. You can do nine or 18 holes, depending on the day you go. There are various features you’ll love throughout the course, including creeks and 86 bunkers.
You can book your 18-hole tee time up to 30 days before your visit, but if you’ll be playing nine holes, that changes to 48 hours in advance. After you’ve worked up an appetite, swing by the Leaderboard Bar and Grill for options like sandwiches and drinks.
Batteaux Creek Golf Club
Located in Nottawa, the Batteaux Creek Golf Club is approximately 11 minutes from The VanderMarck. The 18-hole golf course is gorgeous, lessons are available and there’s a driving range on-site. Refuel when you get hungry by heading over to their restaurant.
Additional Local Activities
As much as you love golf, you may want to mix in a few other non-golf activities, and many are available in and near Collingwood.
We’re only four minutes from Sunset Point Beach, three minutes from the Georgian Trail – Collingwood trailhead, and three minutes from the Shipyards Amphitheatre & Greenspace.
Our hotel is also a five-minute drive (or 30-minute walk) from Millenium Overlook Park, which is worth a visit just for the incredible views of the Nottawasaga Bay. Various tours and other experiences are also available in the area, whether you want to try windsurfing or do a little fishing.
