Indoor Golf Retreat: Tee-Time Bliss in Blue Mountain

One of the best aspects of staying at the VanderMarck Boutique Hotel in Collingwood, Ontario, is the numerous indoor and outdoor activities nearby, including those for golf aficionados. Although certain golf courses stay open year-round, brisk temperatures and the potential for inclement weather for half the year close down golf courses. Most people call that winter 🙂

Indoor golfing can save the day, and the multiple establishments near The VanderMarck make it one of the many convenient and enjoyable activities within driving, walking, or cycling distance.

The Golf Club

Just a four-minute drive from The VanderMarck is the 4,700-square-foot The Golf Club, an indoor golf course that offers an incredible array of activities for any golfer. They’re open all year, so you don’t have to worry about winter weather getting in the way of your plans. In the summer, it’d be a short bike ride.

You can book a tee time on its website but plan a little extra time to enjoy the rest of what The Golf Club has to offer. In addition to the five golf simulators that feature hundreds of golf courses, there’s also a bar and lounge. Some beverages available include beer, cocktails, and soft drinks, while foods range from hot dogs and wings to pizza and nachos.

Ace Track Indoor Golf Center

Ace Track Indoor Golf Center is another indoor golf course in Collingwood, only a six-minute drive away. More than 160 golf courses are available via their Trackman simulators, giving you plenty of options to explore.

They’re open daily from 6 am to 1 am, so there’s ample time to get in an early morning session, one late at night, or any time in between. Make your reservation online.

North Swing Golf Lounge

Approximately 49 minutes from The VanderMarck is North Swing Golf Lounge. It’s worth the drive to Barrie with plenty to do on the way. It’s open daily until 11 pm or midnight, depending on the day. It has two private suites and six golf simulators, and reservations are available online.

Choose from 35 different golf courses while you practice your golf swing. When you want food or drinks, opt for delicious choices like flatbread, wine, beer, cocktails, wings, fried cheese curds, and wraps.

What to Wear to Golf Indoors

Some establishments treat indoor golfing as if you’re playing outdoors on a course, including your attire. Please review the dress code to ensure you dress appropriately for admission.

What Time Do I Need to Arrive?

Each establishment has different rules, but arriving approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled booking time is ideal. Arriving late may forfeit your reservation, so make sure to get there early, especially if inclement weather in the area may make driving take longer.

Do I Need to Make a Reservation to Play Indoor Golf?

You generally need to make a reservation. Even if you’re not required to, we recommend making a reservation to ensure you can play at your preferred time. This is especially the case if you want to go during peak times, such as Friday and Saturday nights. If you’re coming here over a weekend, definitely.
