Teeing Off in Style: Blue Mountain Golf Adventures Await

Anyone who loves golfing can identify with the green calling their name, especially if they haven’t been on a course in a while. For us here in Collingwood, it’s been a while – winter is just starting to fade into spring.

There are many incredible golf courses in and near the Blue Mountain area, making it a fantastic place to visit when you desire a long vacation or an extended weekend.

And the best part? You can celebrate your golf score (or commiserate over it) by settling into luxurious accommodations and a tranquil space. The VanderMarck Boutique Hotel is in Collingwood, Ontario, located 30 minutes or less from multiple courses that are worth the visit.

Duntroon Highlands Resort

Duntroon Highlands Resort, less than 20 minutes from our hotel, boasts a beautiful par 71, 18-hole golf course. It’s the perfect spot to spend a sunny day on the greens. There are also many other ways to enjoy the sport, including heading to the driving range, using the short game practice area, joining the Golf Academy, participating in a men’s or ladies’ league, and taking lessons.

When you’re ready to relax, the cafe offers a variety of snacks and meals like a nacho platter, onion rings, burgers, and sandwiches. For added value, check out our Duntroon Highlands Golf package deal.

Batteaux Creek Golf and Country Club

Approximately 10 minutes from the VanderMarck is the Batteaux Creek Golf and Country Club. It offers everything you could want to boost your golf game, whether it’s playing on the 18-hole, par 72 golf course, taking lessons, going to the driving range, or playing in a league. Multiple membership options are available at varying price points. Visit the on-site restaurant when you want to refuel after a long day out in the sun.

Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club

The Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club is a semi-private, par 72 golf course a mere SIX minutes from our door. Grab your clubs and head to this beautiful and iconic 18-hole course that’s been a staple in the area since 1964. All levels of golfers are welcome to play 9 or 18 holes, stop by the pro shop, and dine on incredible food. Golf carts are rented by the seat (one or two people).

Cranberry Golf Course

Again, just SIX minutes from The VanderMarck is the Cranberry Golf Course. Golfers of all experience levels can enjoy this 18-hole, par 72 golf course on Harbour Street West. There’s also a practice facility, a driving range with grass tee decks, and golf lessons.

Bring your own clubs or rent them. The semi-private course includes Station on the Green, where you can dine on food ranging from shrimp to sandwiches. Stop by Tuesday or Friday through Sunday to listen to live music for a few hours in the evening.

OslerBrook Golf and Country Club

The OslerBrook Golf and Country Club is set on 230 acres, just 10 minutes from our hotel. This private, par 72, 18-hole course includes a 12,500 square-foot clubhouse and offers multiple types of adult, junior, and intermediate membership options. You’ll also find the OslerBrook Academy, which includes numerous perks, from custom club fitting to a driving range.

What Clothing Do I Need to Wear While Golfing?

Golf courses typically enforce dress codes, but some are more strict than others. The golf attire you should wear depends on where you’ll be golfing. We recommend contacting the business or browsing its website for more information.

Don’t worry if you didn’t bring the appropriate clothing or realize you left some golf gear at home. There are multiple stores in and near Collingwood where you can shop for golf-related items, including Sporting Life just around the corner from us on Hurontario Street and Sport Chek in The Collingwood Centre on Mountain Road.

Should I Book My Tee Times in Advance?

We recommend booking your tee times as early as possible. Many golfers love spending time on the golf courses in the area. Tee times can book up fast, especially once the temperatures warm up. Additionally, some people assume the number of memberships is infinite at each golf course.

There may be limits on the number of available short- and long-term memberships, so you’ll be out of luck if you’re required to have one and the one you want sells out before you buy it. If you’re interested in getting one for your Blue Mountain golf vacation, we advise purchasing it early to ensure you can get the one you want.
